A.D. Cook is an internationally recognized, veteran artist whose career spans decades. He's a self taught master, learning his craft at a very early age while on the road with his traveling family. He developed many different disciplines including drawing, painting, photography and sculpture adding airbrush to his repertoire 30 years ago.

Today, he's widely recognized as a pioneer in the airbrush world. His original paintings have been featured on the covers and in the pages of magazines and trade journals and he has taught art in workshops, high schools and colleges.

Always an imaginative innovator, A.D. is now taking his art beyond just paintings. He has developed a proprietary technique - translating his vibrant, imaginative art to textured metal. For this magical approach he has coined the term "Metal Fusion™". It employs a synergy of many disciplines including sculpture, painting and photography. With this current body of work, A.D. is creating the illusion of dimension while articulating the passion, warmth and beauty of any subject matter.

“I try to always have a camera with me wherever I go…” A.D. says “allowing me to capture a portrait of any moment that inspires me. I immediately see how the image will translate to the metal substrate waiting for it in the studio. Then I begin implementing many different techniques to cause the image to interact with the metal in dynamic ways. I will grind, paint, scrape, erase, polish, apply metal leaf then paint again until I get just the effect I’m looking for."

A.D.’s metal art can be lit in many different ways. The art and the metal substrate play with the light that’s around it, so that whether the piece is displayed in bright or low light, artificial, natural or changing light each painting takes on a presence that changes from moment-to-moment.

A.D. Cook's realistic paintings reflect his passion and appreciation for life and beauty. The body of work reflected on this site comprises of life-size and larger fine art nudes and figurative works, large-scale motorcycle paintings, and billboard-size Hollywood Video murals.

Currently residing in Las Vegas, Nevada, A.D finds inspiration in the flood of imagery and the stimulating pace that permeates the city. When he travels, he looks for the visuals imagery indigenous to the area.
